Kawakawa & Lavender Soap

Our Kawakawa and lavender soap is made with saponified oils of kawakawa infused olive, coconut, castor and almond with organic shea butter and purple brazilian and kaolin clay to naturally colour the bars. Scented with CPTG lavender essential oil.

***The essential oil we've choosen to use is sourced from Bulgaria. An agricultural haven with lcoals who are rich in expertise for growing the best aromatic plants. However, in 2015 the lavender fields were looking awfully sad due to the lack of finacial support from the government. A new distillery was built which became solely run by Bulgarians and after just a few short years it became the biggest in Bulgaria and provided full time jobs for 100 workers and used lavender from around 100 local farmers. These farmers would deliever their lavender to the distillery and wait for it to be tested then paid - usually all in one day. Previous to this they had to wait up to a year to receive any money from other distillery which led to most farmers leaning towards growing wheat and corn instead so they could provide for their families.
 
I am so excited to share that I almost use 100% certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils in my soaps! These new oils are ethically sourced through co-impact sourcing, protecting the environment and farmers from all over the world. Through purchasing these oils I am supporting developing communities to have access to basic needs such as fresh water and schooling and a sustainable income to support their whanau. This is something that is really important to me and has taken a while to adjust to the different quantities needed but I am so proud that we have successfully made the switch! It is amazing how much the smell has changed too, especially with the lavender and tea tree options. So when you support us in choosing our soap bars, you are also supporting these farmers around the world, especially those living in third world countries.
